Phone Bank for Change Flip the Board of Supervisors
July 30, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Phone Bank from home for a critical seat: Board of Supervisors District 1. We have a chance to flip this seat blue and put a check on a rampant conservative board that has:
-Doubled fundingfor the OC Sheriff’s Department over 10 years while failing to hold the department accountable for unexplained jail deaths and evidence misconduct scandals
-Failed to protect essential workers during COVID-19, most of whom are people of color; revoked a mask order, and pressured health officers to resign
-Slashed funding for homelessness services, foster care services, and mental health services, disproportionately harming low-income communities of color
-Slashed ethics oversight and funding for monitoring and preventing hate crimes and hate incidents, which are primarily perpetrated against people of color and the LGBTQ community, especially trans women of color.
We’ll have conversations with voters in Fountain Valley, Santa Ana and Garden Grove about the importance of this seat, and how we can take action for our elections in November
